Since June 2024, I’ve been working as a Care Field Supervisor at Betamindes Care, and honestly, I only wish I’d made the leap into care years ago!For over 20 years, I worked in education, and while that was a huge part of my life, I never expected how rewarding and fulfilling this new chapter would be. Every day in care brings variety. Some days I’m in the office, managing care plans, assessments, and rostering. Other days I’m out in the field.Meeting clients, supporting them with their care needs, carrying out reviews, meeting families, and rolling up my sleeves to deliver care myself.What I love most is the people. Every client I meet has a story, a life full of experiences, and I feel privileged to be welcomed into their world. It doesn’t feel like “work” it feels like looking after family, every day.Switching careers later in life can feel daunting, but for me it’s been the best decision. I’ve found a role that lets me make a difference every single day and I wouldn’t change it for anything.
